Levanto
is one of the most beautiful borghi of the Ligurian
Riviera di Levante, an oasis of amenity a stone’s throw
from the Cinque Terre, the Tigullio and Portofino – not
to forget the two ancient salt routes heading north to
Piacenza and Pontremoli.
Levanto is a land of seafarers and farmers to be
discovered at a slow pace, exploring velvety beaches,
medieval carruggi, fishermen boats and magnificent
churches (the rose window of the parrocchiale di Sant’Andrea
alone is worth while the journey), in the company of
surfers and gourmet travellers. To the east, the Punta
Mesco promontory stretches towards the open sea, its sea
beds attracting hosts of Italian and foreign scuba
divers.
Set in the heart of Levanto, a handful of metres from
the seashore, the ostello “Ospitalia del Mare” (open all
year round) provides rooms (13) and sleeping
accommodation (bunk beds, 72 people) for a rewarding
stay in the most historical of buildings. The hostel is
in fact located in an ancient monastery, whose
architectures are lovingly preserved, stone arches,
columns, wooden ceilings and windows, penetrated by the
glow of the Mediterranean sun.
This functional hostel is the ideal accommodation
facility for groups, young people, schools and all those
who like to enjoy a socializing vacation. 2 double rooms,
2 four-beds, 2 nine-beds and 7 six-beds (two of them
accessible to disabled people): pastel rooms full of
light and provided with private bathroom. Prices include
bed linen and towels and breakfats(this last from March
to October).
The “Ospitalia del Mare” offers its guest a universe of
hospitality, freedom and tailored services. The hostel
spaces include two congress rooms (40 and 100 people)
and a vast terrace. Top services feature daily cleaning,
hot water (24 hrs.), Winter heating, fridge and
microwave use, valuable deposit and credit card payment.
Drinks and snacks machines, washing machines and
internet point operate with fee.
Last but not least, the hostel provides discounts and
coupons for restaurants, pizzerie, surf, bicycles and
scooters rentals – all is needed to practice sports and
explore a green&blue paradise.
